Women Speak Out for Peace

The phenomenon generally known as "Women strike for Peace" arose largely out of the fear that Soviet Union's recent series of nuclear tests would mark an "open season" for testing by all the nuclear powers. The movement; already operating in more than sixty cities in this country basically represents a maternal concern; place with leukemia promises no brighter future for the nation's children than does war with incineration. The word "movement" is used advisedly, because "Women Strike for Peace" is not an organization. In fact, communication without organization has become one of the women's cardinal principles.
