In this age of jets and super service, the U.S. Congress is balking at the appropriation the Post-master General has requested. As a consequence, Marvin Watson, who runs the postal system, has ordered 347 small stations to close up and has informed the tenants of new building complexes that they will have to pick their mail up at the post office. There will be no deliveries for any of the people on Saturday and for a great many people no deliveries on Friday either. The tragic aspect to the whole situation can be summed up by reminding the constituency that some of the towns that will have to surrender their post offices are Adamant, Vermont; New Russia, New York; Seven Mills Ford, Virginia and Nine points, Pennsylvania.
