The article presents information on various theatrical productions. "The American Dream," by Edward Albee, is a one-act abstract vaudeville sketch. It purports to typify the well-to-do American middle-class home in this age of automation and mechanized men and women. The play is funny and horrid, a pokerfaced grotesque. The cast of "The American Dream" is well chosen and ably directed by Alan Schneider. "Bartleby," is a musical setting by William Flanagan. The idea in the theatrical production is superbly suggestive though unsuccessful in execution. Such a story as depicted in this musical play is extremely difficult to dramatize or to set to music unless it is enveloped in a richly complex texture.
