In this article the author comments on the growing role of presidential press conferences in the U.S. politics. According to the author where once a President could use it to inform, it is now in danger of becoming a vehicle of persuasion rather than of information. He remarks that the live shows on television and radio are the weaknesses of this kind of media addresses that requires the President to be more cautious about the words he chooses for his answers. Then there is the time limitation. The prospect that the conference must end, gives an eerie quality to the whole performance, and especially for its participants.
