This article presents brief description of various political and legal issues in the U.S. politics in context of the Vietnamese War and of some related media and literature items. It reports that an issue regarding the probable decision by Lyndon Baines Johnson for bringing back General William C. Westmoreland from his assigned work in support to the Vietnamese War. The work of Westmoreland was appreciated at the joint session of Congress by the legislators. A book "The Johnson Treatment," by Jack Bell has been popularly appreciated for its observations and comments on the then political scenario. This book contains a prescient forecast of the troubles which the personality of President Johnson was to bring on the United States and the world.
