Chicago, Illinois long accustomed to being on the tail end of things theatrical, was surprised to find, with the import of London's satirical night-club troupe, The Establishment, that for once the tail was leading the pack. The Establishment is London's latest intellectual rage, but Chicago audiences found that, like the Emperor's new clothes, the myth was, lovely, but the substance wasn't there. The differences between the year-old Establishment and Chicago's group with its eight years of mixed experience, besides the obvious one of professionalism gained through practice are small but telling.
