This article presents information on a pre-election survey in Florida on those contests which are of more than local interest and which are likely to affect national policy either immediately or in 1964. All indication point to former U.S. Senator Claude Pepper supporter of the Lend Lease legislation and for a variety of New Deal proposals, is seeking the new Congressional seat from Dade County's, Miami, Florida Third District. Pepper's, road back to Washington has been a long time unwinding. His seat in the U.S. upper House collapsed from under him in 1950, when his opponent Senator George Smathers, bested him. The major issue then was Pepper's alleged tolerance of communism.
