Vietnam, Race and the Unions

This article discusses the repercussions of the escalated war in Vietnam have disrupted on the U.S. Economy. The trade unions' activities have increased to an extent that requires a fresh look at old problems and tested solutions. A war- oriented economy, characterized by inflation and labor- market shortages, puts new pressures' at the collective bargaining table as union leaders strive to keep their ranks under control. As for government monetary and fiscal policy, there is evidence that devices like raising interest rates have not succeeded in checking inflation, but have priced many potential home buyers from the market.
