This article presents information about the ballet "Equinox," presented by the Paul Taylor Dance Co. Paul Taylor's "Equinox" is a handsome ballet for four couples. Costumed in ivory sports clothes by William Ivey Long, the piece is a virtual ballet blanc, romantic in gesture but formally austere. As is customary with Taylor, the choreography takes off from a rather small set of movements which are variously swollen, splintered, reversed, becalmed and otherwise exploited to achieve the effect of spontaneity.
