The article focuses on Green movements, which are flourishing in nearly every country in Western Europe, as well as in Japan, Canada and Australia. In preparation for the European Parliament election from June 14-17, 1984 Green parties in Austria, Belgium, Britain, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Sweden and West Germany have formed European Greens and have hammered out a platform on which candidates in each of those countries will campaign. The Green Party in West Germany has weathered various internal crises and on March 25, 1984 Baden-Wϋrttemberg state election, it increased its share of the vote to 8 percent statewide and to a remarkable 21 percent in the university town of Tϋbingen.
