The article presents information on political developments around the world. NBC, CBS and CNN are in high dudgeon because ABC claims the exclusive right to televise portions of the Liberty Weekend ceremonies in New York City. Kurt Waldheim seemed to be a run-of-the-mill candidate for high office in Austria and his substantial victory in the presidential election last week should probably not be taken as an indication of any new horror about to explode on the world scene. Unlike the fire and resulting radiation at Chernobyl, the gas explosions in Mexico City and the release of methyl isocyanate in Bhopal, the space shuttle disaster was televised from beginning to end.
