Focuses on the specific examples which could illustrate the dilemma faced by reporters on whether or not they could remain a decent person and still contribute to the development of journalism as a profession. Decision made by Gloria Emerson not to write a story of two left-wing reporters imprisoned in El Salvador; Need to choose whether or not to protect the interest of those people they were taking information from and the need to provide the public with important information.
