The author of this article presents information on matters related to corporate jobs and its success. Those grim young business school strivers still nurture a vision of corporate success based on the high-powered executive in the Hollywood movie who strides out of his office toward the board room, tossing off orders about reports and conferences and telephone calls as he goes. They see themselves as the chief executive officer of holding company that holds mostly holding companies. The author says "In my occasional daydreams of corporate success see myself about to leave the board room, having just been fired as chief executive officer."
