The article discusses the anti-Bubba laws. The most depressing thing about the Legislature these days is that it has Republicans in it. The statehouse Republicans and near every one is mean mouthed like that, mean-dispositioned too. They had a suit because the Democrats came up with an indigents' health care plan, which means one is not going to let poor folks die in the streets anymore. The Republicans and the mean Democrats almost defeated the bill; it came down to a tie vote in the House and Speaker Gib Lewis, a man seldom think of as a hero of the people, had to break the tie.
