The article focuses on the efforts made by Democrat politician Howard Dean to win the party's 2004 U.S. presidential nomination. Dean has recognized that what Democrats want in the elections is a populist who will challenge U.S. President George W. Bush's policies. Dean is working on his platform to attract African American and Latino voters to his campaign. Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich did not merely vote against the use-of-force resolution, he played a central role in organizing Congressional opposition to the Iraq war.
