The article comments on the status of domestic security in the U.S. The nation remains vulnerable to attack. The promise of the Bush Administration to do everything in its power to protect the homeland has failed. Several evidences point out to the lack of attention paid to and funding for crucial areas of homeland security such as ports and emergency response. The Administration has proposed certain security measures. However, it has failed to adopt them all. The gap in the domestic security is largely blamed to the attitude of the Administration toward homeland security. Scholars agree that the Administration thinks of homeland security as costly and involves too much government so it has resorted to attack directly the tyrants to solve the problem.
