The article focuses on the book "Khrushchev Remembers: The Glasnost Tapes," translated and edited by Jerrold L. Schecter with Vyacheslav K. Luchkov. Little, Brown and Co., a Time-Warner subsidiary, published the book. In the foreword to the book, the successful voice printing of the first two volumes of the book is described, lending a false implication that the new material has been similarly checked. The whole thing is done so deftly that most readers are likely to come away from the foreword with the erroneous impression that all tapes were tested by voice printing and found authentic. According to the author, it appears that the intention is of the publisher and editors of the book wanted to deceive the reader.
