The frequency with which the corpses of female homicide victims undergo some ritualized post-mortem degradation is common knowledge among police officers and hospital morgue personnel. Such degradation committed upon the bodies of living women is even more frequent. It is easy to identify censorship when someone stands up in Congress and says that the creation of artistic works by certain sectors of the population will not be funded by the government. The arts community must also be concerned with the censorship that happens to people who are not artists, because there is absolutely no vocabulary in their environment to describe that aspiration.
