The author comments on the vote by the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee to restore media-ownership controls that were lifted by the Federal Communications Commission. He also applauds the willingness of the committee to back legislation that actually encourages the Commission to weigh measures to strengthen restrictions on media consolidation and monopoly.
