The article offers observation on dominating linguistic techniques used by U.S. President George W. Bush. It suggests that his State of the Union speech in 2003 contained several examples of empty language. An article in the January 16 issue of the "New York Review of Books" highlighted Bush's high degree of personalization and contempt for argumentation in presenting his case for going to war in Iraq. It argues that he creates and maintains negative frameworks in his listeners' minds with linguistic techniques borrowed from advertising and hypnosis.
